A Permanent Replacement for a Missing Tooth

Dental implants look, feel, and function like your natural teeth

RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

How long do dental implants last?

The implant post itself can last a lifetime with proper care. The crown on top typically lasts 10 to 15 years before needing replacement. Dr. Esther Jeong at Willow Family Dentistry uses 3D imaging to plan implant placement precisely, which improves long-term success.

Dental Implants

An implant is the closest thing to getting your natural tooth back. A small titanium post is placed in your jawbone, where it fuses with the bone over several months. Then we attach a custom crown that looks and works like a real tooth. Unlike bridges, implants stand alone. They do not rely on neighboring teeth, and they actually help preserve your jawbone.

Key Benefits

What to Expect

Here's what happens during your dental implants appointment.

1

3D Scan and Planning

We use our iCAT scanner to create a detailed 3D image of your jaw. This helps us plan exactly where to place the implant.

2

Implant Placement

The titanium post is placed in your jawbone. This is done with local anesthesia. Most patients say it is easier than they expected.

3

Healing

Over 3 to 6 months, the implant fuses with your bone. You can eat and function normally during this time.

4

Crown Attachment

Once healed, we attach a custom crown to the implant. Your new tooth is complete.

Dental Implants FAQs

Common questions about dental implants.

Most patients are surprised by how little discomfort they feel. The surgery is done with numbing, and recovery is usually manageable with over-the-counter pain relief.
