Filling the Gap Where a Tooth Used to Be

A fixed bridge replaces missing teeth using your existing teeth as anchors

RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

What is the difference between a bridge and an implant?

A bridge uses your existing teeth on either side of the gap to hold a replacement tooth in place. An implant is a standalone post placed in your jawbone. Bridges are faster and do not require surgery. Implants do not affect neighboring teeth. Dr. Jeong at Willow Family Dentistry can help you decide which option fits your situation.

Dental Bridges

When you lose a tooth, the gap does more than affect your smile. Your other teeth can start to shift. Chewing can become harder on one side. A bridge fills that space by attaching artificial teeth to crowns placed on the teeth beside the gap. The result is a fixed replacement that stays in your mouth and works like your natural teeth.

Key Benefits

Replaces missing teeth without surgery

Prevents remaining teeth from shifting

Restores your ability to chew properly

Completed in about two weeks

Fixed in place so nothing moves

Natural appearance when you smile

What to Expect

Here's what happens during your dental bridges appointment.

1

Evaluation

We examine the teeth next to the gap to make sure they are healthy enough to support a bridge.

2

Preparation

The anchor teeth are shaped to hold crowns. We take impressions and place a temporary bridge.

3

Lab Work

Your custom bridge is made by a dental lab. This includes the crowns for the anchor teeth and the replacement tooth in between.

4

Placement

We fit the permanent bridge, check your bite, and cement it in place. You leave with a complete smile.
